Hello,

I have kernel 2.6.17.7 + sws2 2.27. I have:

 <M> Enhanced Real Time Clock Support
<M> Generic /dev/rtc emulation
[*]   Extended RTC operation

Yet I get:

root@deepdance:~ -> modprobe rtc
FATAL: Error inserting rtc
(/lib/modules/2.6.17.7-tp23-sws2-2.2.7/kernel/drivers/char/rtc.ko): No
such device

Thus I tried genrtc which loaded correctly. I can get the hardware clock
time:

root@deepdance:~ -> cat /proc/driver/rtc
rtc_time        : 16:06:35
rtc_date        : 2006-08-22
[...]
batt_status     : okay

And chrony doesn't complain about missing hardware clock support when
genrtc is loaded.

Yet it doesn't synchronize the hardware clock with the system clock:

root@deepdance:~ -> date ; LANG=C hwclock --show
Di Aug 22 19:13:12 CEST 2006
Tue Aug 22 18:09:47 2006  -0.461391 seconds

Any hints how to get it working? It doesn't matter as long as I use Debian
with my chrony setup, but when I boot to my parallel SUSE 10.1
installation the clock is wrong.

Regards,
