call ASUS, sometime if the laptop is that kind of dead, the embedded
controller had a software crash.

try, ..
- put the laptop an ac
- press the on/off button really very long, normal about 40sec or longer

if its just the e-controller, this should help, otherwise, return the laptop
to get a new one.
