I have a r50e, but with a Pentium M 745.
The problem is that CeleronM-cpus have very poor power saving features.  
One thing you could try is to load the "ondemand" governor which should  
keep down the frequency of your processor if it is not needed.
However there are people who believe that frequency modulation has no  
measurable effects on celeronM-s. Just try it and you will find out.
