Thanks, discovered that now, but didn't seem very successful, or i was
to stupid. Trying again, now.

Yepp, it does, but i wouldn't have expected dpms to be set on by
default. However, it's a good point and i'll check again.

Is my assumption right, though, that if the console blank option is set
it would blank the virtual terminal that X uses as well and hence X
would be affected by it?

Wow...thanks for the lot's of useful info, BIOS doesn't have anything,
