One more word:

If a try to load slamr module from smartlink modem driver,
I see this:

# modprobe slamr
slamr: SmartLink AMRMO modem.
slamr: probe 8086:24c6 ICH4 card...
ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:1f.6[B] -> Link [LNKB] -> GSI 11 (level, low) -> IRQ 11
slamr: mc97 codec is CXT23
slamr: slamr0 is ICH4 card.
#

I'm sure that ,,mc97 codec is CXT23'' is the key point. This CXT(=Conexant)
chipsets are not supported in Smartlink modem driver, as it's homepage
writes. This chipset is not fully compatible with mc97 standard, and
driver's author writes he is not interested in non-standard modems.
Especially becouse that Conexant modems work fine with Linuxant driver.

Maybe bad news. :( Oh, IMHO IBM should support Linuxant and give
this driver with their laptops. :)
