[ltp] irdadump kernel panic

Dear All,

Just wonder whether anyone has seen this behaviour; namely that irdadump
causes a "Fatal exception in interrupt" and an instant kernel panic.

It's not important (I don't really need irda), but I'm curious, and of
course it would be nice to get the bug fixed upstream for anyone who
*does* need it.

I reported it to Mandrake here:

Regards,

Richard

-----------------------------
Running irdadump on a Thinkpad A22p, is just fine if I use a mirror to
reflect the signals from the laptop's own IR port. But if I show it the
IR signal from my mobile phone, I get "Fatal exception in interrupt" and
an instant kernel panic.

The phone is a Samsung S300 - and I had no problems with this procedure
on the same hardware when it was running 9.1

The crash occurs both with the standard kernel:
  kernel-i686-up-4GB-2.6.12.12mdk-1-1mdk
and with the latest kernel-linus:
  kernel-linus-i686-up-4GB-2.6.15.rc7.4mdk-1-1mdk
and with the multimedia kernel:
  kernel-multimedia-2.6.14-0.mm.5mdk-1-1mdk

I don't think that it is shorewall-related, since I stopped the
shorewall service. I have no idea where to fault-find this - but I'll
try any tests that would help.
