No, I did not have that option set in the kernel. Setting it caused it
to show up as you said.

However upon trying to turn the DMA on I get a different error:

# hdparm -d 1 /dev/sr0

/dev/sr0:
 setting using_dma to 1 (on)
 HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device


Any further ideas? Thank you for helping me progress!
