I had the same problems with T41p, fglrx 8.21.7, Xorg 6.8.2, Gentoo
suspend2-sources-2.6.15-r3.

But now everything just works!

Solutions were:

  - Use kernel-agp-Module (intel-agp.ko) instead of ATIs although fglrx
complains in dmesg. Then X doesn't freeze anymore at restart.

  - "echo 5000 > /proc/suspend2/extra_pages_allowance" or "ProcSetting
    extra_pages_allowance 5000" in hibernate.conf to make swsusp2
work. Error was something like "Pageset1 has grown by 4200
pages. Only 100 growth is allowed for!" during hibernate.
    s. http://lists.suspend2.net/lurker/message/20051125.192055.7a57015e.en.html

  - Use vesafb-tng framebuffer instead of radeonfb. Then
    2D/3D-acceleration works after resume.
