Hello.

I installed Debian sarge on T40p (2373-G3U), failed to make ACPI
working on stock kernels 2.4.27 and 2.6.8, installed 2.6.17 and got
suspend to mem working, noticed, that suspended it consumes a lot (up
to 6W/hour? I am not joking, it almost consumed all of battery in one
night, while not suspended it makes it in 2-3 hours), rebuilt kernel
with radeon patch
http://bugme.osdl.org/attachment.cgi?id=8220&action=view
now it is supposed to live being suspended about 50-60 hours, but, I
hope, it is possible to achieve even better results.

After I got ACPI working on 2.6.17 (Think I have not even tried
2.4.27, since it locks up on screen blanking [yes, I know, I can avoid
this by disabling it bios and not pushing bad butons], on 2.4.8
suspend to mem was always finished with immediate resume) I applied
suspend2 patch and I had two ploblems with it: 1. suspend to mem broke
(just after resume I got only mouse pointer moving, X's picture was
stale). 2. suspend to disk does not work, since it is tweaky to make
it work; so for now I reverted it.

Any help/notes on these question will be kindly appreciated.
I will be nice to know:
1. how low can be power consumption while laptop is idle, but not
suspended (say, X just started, nothing happens)
2. how low it can be for suspend to mem?
3. how do I get suspend2 working

Thanks a lot,
