[ltp] T42 ipw2200 monitor mode?

Greetings All,

I recently bought a Thinkpad T42 and installed SUSE
10.1. The installation worked quite well and almost
everything seems to work.

However, I cannot seem to get the wireless card
(Intel IPW2200) to run in monitor mode for the
kismet program..

I have downloaded, compiled and installed the latest
IPW2200 module, but it still rejects the monitor
setting.

Is there some magic that can be done to solve this,
or is this a lost cause?

  Some command outputs:
