[ltp] FC5 install on T60 locks up

OK, after a long frustrating day, I'm nowhere.

1. Changed the hard disk setting to compatibility mode.
still locked up - twice

2. Ran memtest86 for 45 minutes.
no errors

3. Disabled core multiprocessing.
still locked up, two more times.

However, I was able to install Kubuntu and get it running to the point 
of connecting to the Web.

The only difference I can tell is that the FC5 media is a DVD and the 
kubuntu media is a CD.

But this is starting to feel like a hardware problem...

Any other ideas?
