My T20 does not shutdown properly any more.
It gets to "shutdown: hdc" and then stops;
I have to power-off with the power button.

I saw a suggestion that this might be due to acpi (or acpid) dying,
but it seems OK to me:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
[tim@elizabeth ~]$ ps aux | grep acpi
root         9  0.0  0.0      0     0 ?        S<   10:16   0:00 [kacpid]
root      1824  0.0  0.1   1596   456 ?        Ss   10:17
	0:00 /usr/sbin/acpid
68        2042  0.0  0.3   2232   868 ?        S    10:17
	 0:00 /usr/libexec/hald-addon-acpi
tim       2913  0.0  0.2   3912   648 pts/3    R+   11:20   0:00 grep acpi
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Any suggestions or advice gratefully received.
