Hmmm, I added the following to the grub parameters: libata.atapi_enabled=3D1 ide1=3Dnoprobe acpi_serialize in a failed attempt to get dma working on the dvd last night.... But I was able to sleep overnight (with the battery only at 25%). I'm not sure if these are related or not. still confused about sleeping.... -matt
