[ltp] speedstep_smi w/ Dapper

Has anyone had any luck with speedstep on piix-controlled coppermine
P3 mobile chips?  I haven't been able to get it to work on either a
T20 or an s30.  Works fine on a dell from the same period.  I've tried
all the options on the thinkwiki page

but none of them work.  I get:

No such device
Before I ask on linux-kernel or the cpu-freq lists, has anyone gotten
this working on Dapper? And if so, how?
