To answer my own question. It seems that the new version of xlibmesa-gl 
package put libGL.so.1.2 in two places: /usr/lib/ and /usr/X11R6/lib/ 
and fglrx only managed to divert the former not the latter copy with its 
own. After copy both library with the fglrx version 3D works.
