And here's mine...  same deal, fglrx driver... steady state doing "word 
processing".

# cat /proc/acpi/ibm/thermal
temperatures:   53 43 40 76 36 -128 32 -128

It's the 2.16Ghz (T2600) dual core unit with the ATI Fire GL chipset 
(2007-86U model if you wanna lookup the exact specs), but I have it set 
to drop both the CPUs to 1Ghz when idle or otherwise not working hard.

It pumps out a LOT more heat when I play a 3D game (like Quake 4), but 
it's still whisper quiet...

# cat /proc/acpi/ibm/thermal
temperatures:   75 46 41 94 36 -128 32 -128

I don't think you have anything to worry about.  Looks like I can just 
about boil water though!
