I pop my keycaps off all the time (What can I say, I'm a messy eater).
WholeGrain bread is a killer... Those bits of hard grain that fall off
tend to get under the keys & they just don't work properly any more.

Just pop a fingernail under the front edge, & leaver it up. Then get
the offending material out (Blow it, or pick it out is better), & pop
the cap back on.

Takes about 30 seconds.

Or you can take the whole keyboard out & bash it upside down/sideways
a bit (3 screws on the bottom of the thinkpad & it pops out as a unit).
