I doubt that.  I've tried several devices in a lot of combinations
including with and without a hub.  Therefore I'm quite sure the problem
is in the combination of something in the 600X (Intel chipset or TI
Cardbus brigde) and that Via usb controller chipset.  I've heard rumors
that Intel chipset and Via controllers don't work together well but I
could not confirm them.
