It's not entirely clear that the radeon driver had anything to do with
your problem either.  Perhaps so, perhaps not.  It's worth noting, but
I don't think we should post HUGE BOLD flashing letters that say
"RADEON DRIVER WILL FRY YOUR LAPTOP." All that is going to do is cause
problems and feed the rumour/disinformation mill.
