[ltp] Battery capacity updates under Linux

Hi,

The ThinkPad battery reports a "last full capacity" readouts,
accessible under Linux via
$ grep 'last full capacity'  /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/info
or
$ cat /sys/devices/platform/smapi/BAT0/last_full_capacity

Is this value updated when the battery is used only under Linux?
What are the conditions for updating tihs value?
