[ltp] kernel-parameters for ibm_acpi?

Hi,

This might be a naive or silly question, but I was wondering if I could
compile ibm_acpi into the kernel and use some kind of kernel_parameters to
get the same results as modprobe'ing the module with "hotkey=enable,0xffff
experimental=1"

Is modprobe the only way to get these options? To get "experimental"
features of ibm_acpi do I /need/ to compile it as a module?

Thanks,
Sukant
