[ltp] USB ports in docking station don't work

Hi folks

I have a T23 that used to run Mandriva 2006. The USB ports worked fine
when the unit was not docked but if I put it in the docking station and
then used the station USB ports it wasn't recognised by the thinkpad.

Not a great issue I thought and got on with my life.

A few days ago I decided to try XUBUNTU (with which I'm impressed for
use with older hardware) and since I was going to format the hard disk
anyway I thought I'd install Windows XP and check out the USB ports in
the docking station, and lo and behold when I plugged a memory stick
into the station USB port the T23 recognised it immediately.

Next I proceeded to install XUBUNTU and after installation once again
the memory stick was instantly recognised by the T23 when it wasn't
docked but when docked and the station port is used the T23 has no idea
that its there.

Can anyone shed some light on this as I now have a regular need for it
and am unable to get on with my life (some people say I need to get one
in the first place but ho hum)

Cheers
Nigel
