I find some of that article rather amusing. For one, they assume that
missing IBM/Lenovo software is the same as unsupported/undocumented
hardware. Linux distributions usually provide better-designed,
generic, cross-vendor replacements for vendor-specific tools in
Windows. There is no Windows equivalent to gnome-power-manager, for
example. Or NetworkManager.

And when was the last time anyone ever heard of an optical mouse not
working under Linux?
