[ltp] Fedora on X60s -- screen config etc

I did a recent install, SUSE 10.2 on X60. I assume yours is the same
chipset (T7200 or something similar).

1. I don't use Fedora, but you should have some Xconfiguration utility.
You should be able to enter that and just switch screen resolution to
1024x768. You likely have the Intel video driver which is well
supported, but not particuarily exotic.

2. On my machine, function "home" and function "end" (with blue arrows
in the top right hand corner) control brightness. Check function "pgup"
in the upper right corner, it controls the funky keyboard light.

3. Don't know about hard drive light. Mine's usually off.

4. I can put my machine to hibernate with function-F4 (has blue moon).
The machine will awake by hitting the function key.

5. Wireless. Check which mini-pci card you have. If you have ipw3945
(intel pro wireless ABG), then you should easily be able to get this to
work with the usual standard configuration.

check here: http://ipw3945.sourceforge.net/

for more ipw3945 info. Mine was configured pretty much automagically by
the SUSE configuration utility, I just had to type in the WEP code. If
you have the "thinkpad abgn mini pci", which is atheros based (I think
8415??)....good luck. I tried using the www.madwifi.org driver,
apparently some people have had it work, but i was unable. I actually
changed my atheros card for the intel pro wireless, and it works
flawlessly (ABG only though, not 'N').

ciao,
jfl
