There's a simpler way to achieve the same:

  1) open a terminal
  2) echo SKIP_CHECKS=3Dyes > ~/.config/compiz/compiz-manager

Possibly.

I run compiz with an external monitor connected, but I'm forced to place
the screens one above the other rather than side-by-side. A 1280x1824
desktop fits into a 2048x2048 texture, but 2560x1024 doesn't.

CBQ is merely the oldest kid on the block - yet it is by far the least usef=
ul
qdisc and also the most complex one. I advise *against* using it. This may =
come
as something of a shock to many who fell for the 'sendmail effect', which
learns us that any complex technology which doesn't come with documentation
must be the best available.
