I have been using the ADDONICS *Dual CF-IDE Adapter (2 slots) model:
AD44MIDE2CF* for quite a while now with FEDORA 7 on a 600e.

I installed 2 4G compact flash cards

.....battery life is MUCH BETTER
.....completely silent when fan is off
.....boots and runs faster
...../ is on IDE MASTER
...../home is on IDE SLAVE.

The install is brain dead easy and requires no changes at all to anything
(you may need long billed needle nose pliers).
