you are perfectly right, maybe I had it wrongly in mind ...didnt use that
camera anymore for some years.

The video problem I still couldnt get around: On the TV screen, only the
upper half of the screen is visible. If I switch to only external screen
(Fn-F7), kaffeine displays only a black window (and by the way, this does
also not work under Windows with the original ATI drivers).
So, the choice is either nothing, or half a picture......
