Read your hardware maintenance manual and ensure your T43 has internal 
antennae. If it does, you can add the part and away you go. You'll have 
to use the genuine approved parts or you'll get the dreaded 1802 error, 
for which there is a work-around.

Download and run the diagnostic software for the machine. Check the 
PCMCIA controller.
