I'm not using suspend2 at all, Ubuntu uses the kernel's suspend feature. You 
can download the relevant config files from my Z61p here: 
http://www.armbruster-it.de/ubuntu-thinkpad-config.tar.gz

One crucial point to get Suspend to RAM working is added "acpi_sleep=s3_bios" 
in /boot/grub/menu.lst
