Make sure you use ibm-acpi to log them.  The CPU is properly cooled on
thinkpads (unless IBM's crap of a thermal interface to the cooling assembly
breaks), the south/north bridges, though, might not be.   And they can crash
a system just as much.

As can memory (run memtest86+ for at least 24h).
