fn-F7 as handled by the bios probably won't work in your case since
you have a windscreen monitor and widescreen modes don't generally
play well with projectors or external monitors so the video bios won't
actually enable the output.  Usually fn-f7 won't work for anything
other than 1024x768 panels.  See similar messages in the archive for a
