Hi.

I've ran into a problem I don't know how to solve (or were to turn
really). The issue is that my Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
Network Connection-card no longer shows up as a network device
(ifconfig). The eth1 that used to be there is gone, and I don't know how
to get it back.

I've started Windows XP and then rebooted back into this Ubuntu Feisty
(Beta actually). Running windows didn't bring the magic back on under
Linux (the wireless led lit up, so by the looks of it Windows could and
did use the card, however I didn't stay too long in windowsland).

I've turned the network switch/lever back and forth but nothing happens
(at least syslog and dmesg is silent, don't know where else to look).

I have compared syslogs from when it worked (all day yesterday and ever
since March this year) with that of today, and a working bootup looks
like:

ceda@wendt-z61t:$ grep ipw3945 /var/log/syslog
May 30 13:53:33 wendt-z61t kernel: [ 23.940000] ipw3945: Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945 Network Connection driver for Linux, 1.2.0mp

and non-working is missing that last line where it detects geography:

And as you see, I've rebooted a couple of times today. I really haven't
had the time yet to look into why there's a 4 second diff between the
kernel output between working and non-working.

Perhaps I should also say that when I shut the computer down yesterday,
I did that by pressing the power I/0-button for 5 seconds (had to get
off the train quickly), but that have never givven me any problems
before.

I've put files from /var/log (a lot of avahi, NetworkManager and dnsmasq
garbage) at http://wendt.se/software/linux/Z61t/2007-05-31/ as well as
lspci etc.

I'll assist in any way I can (that you tell me to) to get this machine
running with the wireless card working again.

Thanks in advance, any help is very appreciated
