What do you mean by not correctly?

Why is that? Why does kernel 2.6.14.4 work perfectly fine and stable
(*with* DRM), and now it appears to be all broken?

Maybe, I'll try your suggestion next weekend, but first the problem with
the system shutting down due to overheating must be solved.
