Never tried replacing the lcd or opening a thinkpad yet, but from the sony I
had the two issues you are going to face is disassembling/reassembling the
axles and possibly handling the wiring  (the screen connection is simple,
usually you can just pull it out, but there is also the antenna, possibly
switches that may be soldered).

You should probably make sure that the resolution matches, integrated graphic
cards can't handle the higher resolution of the more expensive lcds
