Actually, those are pretty picky about it.  I just went through 3 brands of 
PC133 to upgrade two T23's.  They didn't like all three.  I was able to solve 
the problem by taking the memory out of a couple of other notebooks, putting 
it in the T23's and using the new memory in the other notebooks, which were 
Dells.
