My T41p, with no dri and no wifi, gets 50 wake-ups/s with kubuntu 7.10, which results in a power consumption of 7.7W at idle with minimum brighness (vs 8.2 with kubuntu 7.04) and 5.5W with the screen off. About 50% of the wake-ups come from the hret timer. Powertop suggests to enable HPET timer in the kernel (it is) and bios. How is it possible to enable it? On which models? Thanks D.
