I think you should have better battery life with intel that with nvidia
for instance, the nvidia (quadro 570fx) on the t61p is such a power
sucker. Even so I can get 5h on the 9 cell battery (that's from the
powertop estimate if I could just keep the consumption on the 16-19Wh
mark).

Same here. But I try to keep the old laptop also. It's cheaper than
buying from eBay (as I'm doing now for a X31/X4*) :|
