Punturing a Li-ION cell can be a LOT more hazardous than just the acid leak
you'd get from a lead-acid battery.  But it is NOT easy to puncture a Li-ION
cells, they are armored.

Still, don't mess with them, unless you really know what you're doing.  A
short circuit or polarity reversal can happen easily, and that can be very,
very dangerous.
