My desktop (i945, intel graphics) doesn't even suspend with 2.6.25-rc2.
It looks like the suspend stuff in 2.6.25-rc is broken in may ways. You
should wait until they are fixed, or open a Bugzilla entry in the
kernel Bugzilla to make sure they really get fixed (but check the
reported regressions first, which are sent to lkml regularily).
