[ltp] Running with line power and no battery

This issue has been discussed, but I've not seen a definitive
answer, and people disagree. Someone said that if the manual says nothing,
running the Thinkpad without a battery is probably OK. However, I've
not seen any discussion of this point in either the Maintenance manual
or the Accessories Guide. 

I've a Thinkpad X61s that I'd like to run on line power without
inserting the battery. Can anyone assure me that it's OK to do so?
