Gutsy installed out of the bag, no problem. At boot it whinges that
acpi is too old (1999) and so it's disabled.<br>
I tried installing Feisty several months ago and that wouldn't even
boot, but with Gutsy I just burnt a CD from the iso image, booted into
live CD, hit install and it all worked.<br>

Gutsy is also on my 600E. Did you try acpi=force pci=noacpi?
