No idea.  On a CONFIG_IDE-less kernel (i.e. all goes through libata), it
just works (and drives are all under the SCSI layer).  The hot*un*plug needs
a script to avoid a lot of noise from the kernel (you have to scsiadd -d the
device before you remove it from the ultrabay), but that's it.  Hotplug just
works automagically.

Just a simple question: does the ultrabay in your T43 work fine with an
optical device?
