When I said a "network install", I didn't mean "boot it normally, then 
fetch most of the packages from the net". What I meant was "boot it 
*from* the network". You can do this in most Thinkpads, certainly the 
X20 (which predates the A21) supports it. It should be a BIOS option to 
"Boot from LAN". This does assume that you have an internal (not PCMCIA) 
ethernet port.
