[ltp] T-61 sporadic kernel panics

Hi

i have a rather odd issue with my T61. it will occasionally kernel panic
late in the boot process or even when i'm using it. the only thing i can
see visually (when i happen to catch the output on the console outside
of X) is the capslock button flashing. it doesn't happen often but at
least once or twice a week and when it does it will do it a few times in
succession with about 5min (or less) in between each.

it has happened to all kernel versions from about 2.6.22.x - i'm
currently running 2.6.23.13 with debian lenny. i run my own compiled
kernel - though this used to happen with the stock debian kernel also.

i have thinkpad-acpi, tuxonice and tp_smapi. outside of that, the only
other 'non-standard' modules are my own compiled iwl4965 modules and the
nvidia proprietary driver.

part of the dump includes the following "smp.c:209" - and this is really
the only thing i recall accurately - and i'm not much for trolling
through kernel source.

first, has anyone experienced this sort of thing? any suggestions?

second, i did try to take a photo of the dump - not all that useful but
better than nothing i figured - but other than such a less than useful
solution is there any way to log out the kernel panic to file. i've been
through most relevant logs from /var/log but can't find a hint of it
anywhere. i'd like to report this as a kernel bug.

suggestions much appreciated.

thanks
Takis
