This long udev delay seems to be fixed now, and the change seems to be caus=
ed=20
by one or more of:
- kernel v2.6.24 as provided by Debian package linux-source-2.6.24
- thinkpad-acpi v0.19-20080107
- BIOS v2.07
- commented out one line in udev's persistent-net.rules (iwl3945)

I think the thinkpad-acpi upgrade made a difference because kernel v2.6.24=
=20
without thinkpad-acpi v0.19 still took ~20 seconds for udevsettle to run.

Hopefully it will stay fixed.
