Hello,
I own a Thinkpad R61 with ALPS Pad and Trackpointer

I want to enable Tap-to-select and Scrolling via middle Button using the
Trackpointer but every solution posted in the internet doesn't work for
me. (Ubuntu Hardy, 2.6.24-17)

the described path doesn't exist in my installation
(/sys/devices/platform/i8042/serio0/serio2 or serio1/serio2) and the
settings specified there for xorg.com don't change anything.

I think it's this bug:
http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8864

but since it is closed since end of 2007 and there are no new posts, i
hoped somewhere would be a solution for that problem that perhaps
someone of you found.

I think the patch they included into the Kernel there, fixed the
Touchpad but now prevents me from Scrolling via Trackpoint
Comment #19 from Dmitry Torokhov sounded somelike very fatal, but
perhaps something changed until now.

This is my first post to this mailinglist, so please excuse and tell me
if i posted something wrong.
Best Regards
Sebastian
