Nothing != double changes.  Double changes means your HAL config is
broken.  Nothing happening might mean a lot of different things,
thinkpad-acpi 0.20 (which I shall release soon) has some stuff in the
documentation about how to setup the brightness stuff, but unfortunately
NO howtos.

I will send the thinkpad-acpi 0.20 readme to the list after the release,
so people can comment on it and even post a howto.
