Yes, that's the tarball from kernel.org alright. But then there must be
something wrong with the patch you are trying to apply because my
version applies cleanly to 2.6.25. Please download the patch again from
[1] and check the md5sum:

pts/1_0:04_git% md5sum disk-protect.patch
a51787066d09d47d89d89d270b39b6db  disk-protect.patch
pts/1_0:04_git%
