[ltp] Active Protection System

hi all

i recently bought a t61 and now i heard that some thinkpads have
harddisk protection called 'active protections system', which parks the
harddisk head in order to protect disk from damage in case of fall. from
what i heard, this is implemented using an accelerometer chip.

first, i would like to know, how i can find out, whether my box has APS.
second i would like to know, if there is linux support to read data from
them.
