[ltp] Psion Gold modem card won't work any more

The issue is a Psion Dacom Gold Card PCMCIA modem card.
It used to work on my thinkpad under older versions of Linux, but not
any more.

It's recognized:

   1.0 ttyS2 at I/O 0x3e8 (irq=3) is a 16550A

But, there's a strange error message following:

   pcmcia: CISfilename is too long

It tries to dial:

   ATZ ok

But, no dial tone and nothing else happens. ...


Yes, it's only a throwaway modem card, but I paid $7 for it on eBay a few
years back, and I'd hate to lose my investment.

Any suggestions?
